Request for support for scholarships for graduate students (study support fund)
In order to support graduate students who play a major role in research activities, our university has established a Doctoral Human Resources Support Office to provide financial and career support, and is working to improve support measures for students who proceed directly from the master's degree to the doctoral program.
However, the reality is that this support depends on subsidies from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and other sources, and supporting more graduate students requires a lot of money.
We would appreciate your kind support so that talented graduate students do not have to give up on their path to becoming researchers for financial reasons.
President of Tokyo Metropolitan University
Main uses of donations
Your support will be used for the following initiatives:
・Scholarships for graduate students aiming to become researchers
Benefits for donors

In the case of donations from individuals
Due to tax reforms in fiscal 28, donations from individuals to educational support programs implemented by national university corporations and other institutions are now eligible for a "tax deduction" in addition to the previous "income deduction."
Donations to our university's "Academic Support Fund" fall under the above category, so when filing your tax return, donors are asked to choose either the income deduction or tax credit, whichever is more advantageous.
Tax credit
This is a system that allows individuals to directly deduct a certain percentage of their donations from their income tax. Since it is directly deducted from the amount of income tax regardless of the tax rate, for many people it has a greater tax reduction effect than income deductions.
Precautions
・If you donate using the donation form, the receipt will be issued approximately 2 to 3 months after the application date (settlement date).
If you wish to apply using a method other than the donation form, please contact us with your inquiries.
