In recent years, climate change and increased human activity have had a serious impact on ecosystems and caused a loss of biodiversity. Under these circumstances, climate change measures and biodiversity efforts are being discussed together around the world, and the realization of a "nature positive" (note) approach has been put forward.
In light of this situation, Tokyo Metropolitan University Corporation has reaffirmed its recognition that the Earth's ecosystem, which is facing a crisis, is essential to realizing a sustainable society, and has issued the "Nature Positive Declaration," pledging to engage in conservation, research, and educational activities.
(Note) Nature positive means halting and reversing biodiversity loss to put nature on the path to recovery.
Our organization recognizes once again that the Earth's ecosystem, currently facing a crisis, is a global public good that is essential for realizing a sustainable society, and has pledged to engage in conservation, research, and educational activities in this regard, thus issuing the Nature Positive Declaration.
