Apology and Notice Regarding Possible Leakage of Personal Information Due to Unauthorized Access (Second Report)

As announced on January 7, 2026, it has been discovered that personal information held by a faculty member at the Graduate School of Business Administration at Tokyo Metropolitan University may have been leaked to the outside due to unauthorized access to the faculty member's personal Google account.

The personal information that may have been leaked includes 423 items of personal information of applicants for events hosted by the Faculty of Economics and Management and Graduate School of Business Administration, as well as personal information of successful applicants for the Graduate School of Business Administration, as well as information on emails sent and received by the faculty member in question. We would like to inform you below about the matters that have been confirmed so far regarding this incident.

We offer our deepest apologies to all those involved for causing concern and anxiety. At this time, we have not received any reports of personal information leaks or related damage, but we will continue to work to gather information regarding this incident and will work across the university to thoroughly manage information to prevent a recurrence.
