Chairman decision
The Tokyo Metropolitan University Corporation has established the following basic policy in order to prevent damage caused by anti-social forces that pose a threat to social order and safety, and to fulfill its social responsibilities as an institution of higher education.
Statement of Purpose
- With a strong awareness of our social responsibility as an institution of higher education, we will have no relationship whatsoever with anti-social forces, take a resolute stance, and not respond to any unreasonable demands from anti-social forces.
- We will take legal action, both civil and criminal, against any unjust demands made by anti-social forces, and will not comply with such demands, regardless of the reason for the demands.
- We will strive to build close cooperative relationships with external specialist organizations such as the police and lawyers, and cooperate with national and local government measures to eliminate organized crime.
- When taking measures against anti-social forces, the safety of students, officers, faculty and staff, and other related parties will be given top priority and measures will be taken in an organized manner.
Code of conduct for anti-social forces
All officers, faculty and staff members of Tokyo Metropolitan University Corporation will strictly adhere to the following actions when engaging in their duties against anti-social forces that pose a threat to social order and safety.
- We will not have any ties with anti-social forces.
- We will not engage in any transactions with antisocial forces.
- If we receive unreasonable demands from antisocial forces, we will not compromise by offering money or other means.
- If any of the above situations occur, you must immediately report it to your supervisor (or the head of your department, if you are a faculty member).
- The head of the department who receives the report under the preceding paragraph must immediately report the details to the General Affairs Department Manager (General Affairs Department, in charge of audits and internal controls) and discuss how to respond.
- The Director of the General Affairs Department (in charge of audits and internal control) who receives the report in the preceding paragraph will promptly report it to the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, the President, and the Principal, and, if necessary, provide necessary support to the head of the relevant department and report the matter to the police.
